One Oregon Landlord Owed More than $1 Million in Back Rent

One Oregon landlord, unable to evict tenants who are not paying rents, told news outlet KATU-TV that he owns 61 apartment buildings, mostly in East Portland and that more than 20% of his renters have not paid rent since March. Some of his tenants have past due rents approaching $10,000 and in total, he is owed close to $1 million. “It’s been almost six months since March,” he said, “and we can’t continue forever.
