On July 28, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek signed five new housing bills aimed at accelerating the development of multifamily and middle housing. The package contains HB 2138, which speeds up local approvals for duplexes and triplexes; HB 2258, which provides pre-approved housing plans to reduce permitting time; HB 3031, which funds infrastructure such as roads and sewers for new housing; SB 684, which offers low-interest loans for mixed-income housing; and HB 3145, which puts $25 million into modular home development. Eugene’s Old Hospital Site Slated for 520‑Unit Student Housing

Landmark Properties, a national student housing developer, is proposing two five-story residential buildings totaling over 520 units on the former PeaceHealth University District Hospital site near the University of Oregon.
