Right now, up to $50,000 in incentives are available for Oregon MF Energy Upgrades for private, market-rate multifamily owners! It is ODOE’s Building Energy Reduction Incentive (BERI). It’s designed to help pay for real energy-efficiency upgrades (think HVAC, lighting, envelope, and similar measures) that reduce your building’s weather-normalized EUI below the building’s EUI target. (It won’t pay for renewable energy projects like solar.) You’ll need to include an energy audit with your application. For a covered Tier 2 multifamily building, the incentive can be up to $50,000 per building. Scoring is competitive, and multifamily buildings are prioritized.

If you own a 35,000+ square foot (SF) Oregon multifamily building and you create an upgrade plan that could plausibly get you below your target Energy Use Intensity (EUI), get your Round 1 application moving now. BERI applications (Part I) are due by 5 p.m. PT April 10, 2026, and they must be submitted by email to Oregon.BPS.BERI@energy.oregon.gov; ODOE posts the Opportunity Announcement and Incentive Application on the BPS Incentives webpage. You’ll find it at https://www.oregon.gov/energy/save-energy/Pages/BPS-Incentives.aspx
